a dream syllabus

This syllabus is for a class I dream of teaching at a public library: an exploration of community history culminating in a student-produced museum exhibit telling the story of our shared home.

  • A History of Me

    • Students use their personal archives to share their own history.​

  • On My Block

    • Students photograph or record snapshots of daily life in their neighborhood.​

  • What's Your Story?

    • In groups of three, students choose a community member to interview.​

  • Museum Exhibit

    • Students work together to design & assemble a museum exhibit for display at the public library.
